We’ve said it many times before, but for the sake of posterity we’ll say it again: “we’re huge fans of gadgets that merge the old and the new.” Perhaps it’s our odd desire to live in the 1930s, despite the horrible economic depression and lack of alcohol. Or maybe it’s because the folks back then had a better sense of self, individualism and didn’t spend half their lives on Facebook socializing. But we digress.
The Ozaki iSuppli Gramo iPhone Charger Speaker is a dock for your iPhone or iPod Touch. Next to that dock is a speaker. However that speaker is shaped just like those old school gramophones. Much like the iPhone, which is really the first massively successful capacitive touchscreen smartphone (see how we added a number of dependencies to that claim?), the gramophone was the first first device for recording and replaying sound, at least according to Wikipedia.
The deets are a bit few and far between, but we can only assume that the amplicication is not powered, even though there is a dock to charge up your iPhone.
You can pick one up now for $59.99. They’re available in black, red or white.
