The Martin Jetpack is probably still 6-12 months away from production, so if you can’t wait until then, and need to experience, or at least trick your friends into thinking you’re a real life Ironman, check out the RcSuperhero.
They come in two sizes, 75-inch and 57-inch. The larger of the two sports 6 pounds of thrust and can take off from a standing vertical position, just like the comic book hero. It takes some skill to fly it, so the manufacturer recommends that you practice on a simulator or another RC aircraft.
So how does it fly? Well, aside from the built-in engine, the RcSuperhero weighs just 3lbs and has an “arm span”, or wingspan of 45 inches. So the low weight to surface area gives it plenty of lift.
Cost? Super low. Just $19.95 for the larger version and $11.95 for the smaller. We’re not sure if this includes the propollision system and if you want the LED effects to mimic the Ironman’s suit (as seen in the video below), you’ll need to buy and add those yourself.
