WaveJet WaveJet: A Self Powered Surfboard (video)

Sometimes the motion of the ocean just isn’t enough to get you going.  And now you can get your head out of the gutter, because we’re actually talking about a jet powered surfboard called the WaveJet.

It’s a patented Personal Water Propulsion engine, and while it appears to be a powered surfboard, it can be attached to a variety of crafts, such as a SUPs, kayaks, kiteboards, rescue boards and light boats.

The kit is powered by an integrated twin-lithium ion battery pack and can produce 20lbs of thrust (2-3 times faster than paddling) for up to 30 minutes.  The makers say it’s quiet, safe and light weight.  To recharge the WaveJet you just plug it into a standard wall socket.

How much?  About $4,500.
