We just stumbled upon the olloclip at Kickstarter, and we gotta say that we like what we see.
One of the inherent challenges about the iPhone is the camera’s lens. In fact, that’s probably a massive caveat to any smartphone. The olloclip installs, or should we say slips over the corner of iPhone, above the camera’s lens, in a mater of seconds. On either side is a lens, providing not two but three different optics: wide angle, macro and fish eye. The fish eye lens provides a 180 degree field-of-view, while the wide-angle doubles the normal view and the macro increases closes up 10X. To access the macro lens – this is the ingenious part – you just unscrew the wide-angle lens.
The olloclip is small enough to fit in your pocket and we’re sort of hoping they’ll add a key chain option.
Pledging $45 scores you a preorder and they anticipate that they’ll ship the first set out in just 4 weeks.
