Three days ago a new rumor emerged that Nintendo was feverishly working behind closed doors on the next gen Wii video game console. At the time of the posting we had no official info to back up the claim. But now Nintendo has made an official statement that they are in fact working on the Wii 2 and that they’ll show off a playable model at the E3 Expo, which launches June 7th in Los Angeles.
Nintendo also went on to say that the original Wii has sold 86.1 million units since its launch in 2006. Bananas.
