Philips ESee HD Camcorder Boasts “Audio Zoom”, But Can It Penetrate Walls

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Philips in the camcorder department, but that isn’t to say the company doesn’t have something up their sleeve.
The ESee HD camcorder records full 1080p video, has a 23x optical zoom (we’re hoping that doesn’t factor in the digital side of things), a touchscreen LCD display of an unknown size, built-in WiFi, and can capture still images presumably in tandem to recording video. Although many of deets have yet to be confirmed by Philips themselves, we’re hearing that that slot on the aperture ring might just be an LED flash, but that’s hardly the tastiest of features. Apparently, the ESee HD will sport something called Audio Zoom, which allows you to focus the mic in on a specific object or subject which should enhance the fidelity and volume of whatever is being recorded. Sounds (get it?) pretty snazzy, don’t it?
At this point in the game we don’t know when it will launch or for how much, so hang tight.
