This is just straight up bananas.  YouTube user McWolles has actually crafted M.C. Escher’s Waterfall illusion into a real working prototype.

You’ll see him pour the water in the bottom of the contraption and then watch in awe as it flows up hills and pours back down into the base over the wheel.  Watch it as many times as you want, but you’ll never be able to fully grasp what was going on, at least we couldn’t.
