Update: Checkout our Jawbone Era review.

14 days ago Aliph announced the Jawbone Era, the first Bluetooth headset to sport an accelerometer.  And today, it showed up at my door.

Now, I haven’t had a chance to go hands on with the device in terms of actual use since it’s still charging, but what I can tell you is that it feels pretty light weight in the hand and as always is packaged in the most opulent and novel (also practical) of ways.

Jawbone, like their previous Bluetooth headsets, has included a variety of earbud options that is sure to satisfy even the most picky of customers.  The USB cord isn’t more than a few inches long, but they’ve lined it with some wire so you can manipulate it to whatever angle fits your fancy.

The Era is a step above all of Jawbone’s previous Bluetooth headsets as it includes not only an accelerometer – used for entering pairing mode, ending/starting calls – but a 10mm driver and Noise Assasin 3.0, which Jawbone says is their most advanced noise canceling tech to date.

Expect a review up in a few weeks time, where upon I’ll remark on sound quality, noise cancellation, battery life and more.
