That’s right folks, if you own a Playstation 3, might as well just get a copy of that, even if you have no plans on playing the PS3 version. Why? Because if you do, you’ll get a free download off Steam to play Portal 2 on the PC. Then you can give your weak PS3 copy to a friend so they can widdle through the game like an ape while you enjoy the promise of long awaited bliss as it was meant, with a mouse and keyboard. Or, if you’re feeling really wild, you can pick up a set of Razer Hydra’s for some special Portal 2 features not available anywhere else.
This is pretty much the best thing to happen for the PS3…ever. Not only are we actually getting cross-platform play, albeit PS3 to PC, but a free Steam copy with a regular $60 purchase for the PS3? I swear, I thought Valve couldn’t make me love them any more. I was horribly, horribly wrong.
Portal 2 will release this April.
Spawned in the horrendous heat of a Los Angeles winter, James was born with an incessant need to press buttons. Whether it was the car radio, doorbells on Halloween or lights, James pushed, pressed and prodded every button. No elevator was left unscathed, no building intercom was left un-rung, and no person he’s known has been left un-annoyed.
