T-Mobile just tweeted the launch date and price for the Motorola Defy. Starting November 3rd you can get it for $99 with a two year contract, and it’s being pushed as a tough, rugged phone, although it’s not a slow device by any means.
With an MHz OMAP 3610 processor, 3.7 inch display, 1540 mAh battery, 1.25GB onboard memory, and 5MP camera with LED, it stands up favorably to the rest of T-Mobile’s lineup.
It runs Android 2.1, though a possible update to 2.2 has been rumored, with Motorola currently unwilling to promise anything. The Defy will also feature the new MotoBLUR 1.5, though what will attract people to it is its ability to withstand the attacks of weather, dust, water and various falls and impacts, which is not something you can say about most Android phones.
