Here is Apple’s new Macbook Air.  At its thickest point it’s .68-inch and weighs just 2.9lbs.  It uses a complete aluminum unibody construction, has a full sized keyboard, full sized trackpad, 13.3-inch LED backlit display at 1440×900 (more than the 15-inch Macbook pro), Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForce 320m and Facetime camera.

There is NO hard drive or optical drive – Apple has moved to flash storage – solid state.  This means “instant on”.  In terms of battery life Steve J says it will provide 7 hours of use while surfing the web and up to 30 days standby.
