3D Pocket Camcorder Forgets The Resolution
This View Camcorder takes a gamble on 3D and claims a world’s first for 3D recording in the pocket size video recorder class. It uses two lenses two record true stereoscopic footage on its single sensor, but in order to handle required maths, it only outputs 640 x 480 video.
And in order to easily show these movies without the use of 3D glasses it comes bundled with a 7” media player that is “overlaid with a parallax barrier”. The player has speakers and a headphone jack, and receives the camcorder’s footage through an SD card port. One 4GB SD card stores four hours of video or 2000 3D still images.
The problem here is that the bundle costs $599.95 but delivers very low resolution video (albeit 3D) and a nondescript media player.
