Well, it looks like we’ve found the future of pinball. Nike has sponsored a new LCD Pinball technology for their World Cup promotional campaign in Spain. Everything, from the ball, bumpers, and game board is the creation of two super high resolution LCD displays, which is currently a soccer themed game (go figure), but can be designed for pretty much any theme. That means that swapping out pinball games is as easy as loading a game on a game console. While there is something to be missed without the physical ball, the versatility and fun factor of LCD Pinball seems very, very high. Hopefully we’ll see these in the U.S. in bars and clubs soon.
