The saga of HP’s tablet continues. HP has filed a trademark for the “Palmpad,” which is quite the evidence that a Web OS tablet is arriving sometime within the next year. The trademark states that the name is for
Computers, computer hardware, computer software, computer peripherals, portable computers, handheld and mobile computers, PDAs, electronic notepads, mobile digital electronic devices.
People at the company have promised as much ever since they bought Palm. The real question is, will HP also do a Windows 7 tablet, when it seems that the Palmpad might be a much better device? Microsoft certainly thinks so, but the public will decide with their wallets.
