Sony Slips Out Consumer Friendly A290 And A390 DSLR Cameras

Sony today kicked out two new DSLR cameras, the A290 and A390. Both include a 14.2 megapixel sensor, optical image stabilization, memory card slot, SDHC card slot, and what Electronistsa says is a simplified control layout and redesigned grip for a more comfortable hold. The difference between the two models is in the display. While both include a 2.7-inch LCD and are devoid of video recording, the A290 lacks ‘live view’ and can’t be tilted to accommodate awkward angles, unlike the A390.

There is no official word on pricing or launch date, but rumors indicate that we should expect them this summer for $500 and $600 respectively.
