We’ve talked about ways of getting your Apple products to play nicely with displays before, but this new cable is pretty sweet. Belkin’s AV360 Mini DisplayPort Converter lets you use that stunning 27-inch iMac screen as a display for units with HDMI outputs, like game consoles, specifically the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It’s powered by USB, too — no power source required. Now, since Apple doesn’t play nice with this sort of thing, there’s a catch: even though the iMac has a resolution of 2560 x 1440, this unit will only let you play games at 720p. Bummer. Still, if you can get past that, it would put that iMac to more uses — even a Blu-ray player! And Steve Jobs said that Blu-ray was “a bag of hurt.”

The AV360 Mini DisplayPort Converter is available at the end of June for $149.95.
