Summer is upon us which means beach, pool, picnics and more. But what’s an outing without some tunes. This solar powered iPod Speaker dock is apparently the first of its kind (I don’t buy that). Flipping open the protective lid, which is rated to IPX-4 when closed – that means it can resist splashes from all angles – provides off the grid charging of the speakers built-in lithium battery. Surprisingly, three hours of solar charging produces up to one hour of listening time on the two 5-watt full-range speakers, which are housed inside a rugged, rubberized and aluminum body.
Hammacher has it for $200.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
