Petsafe Portable Wireless Fence Keeps Dogs, Goats, Whatever Your Poison, Contained

Petsafe Portable Wireless Fence

Keeping fido contained to the yard can be a challenging feat.  The PetSafe PIF-300-11 Wireless Pet Containment System however offers a convenient solution that unlike other wireless fences requires no buried wires (i.e. digging) or complicated setup.

While the Amazon page says that it takes about an hour or two to install, from what we can suss out is that you plug it in, strap the collar on the dog and your good to go.  If the dog breaches the 90 foot radius from the Petsafe base station a small electric shock and tone is sent to the unruly beast who at that time should return to their set perimeter.  It includes some visual aids (flags) to let your pet know their limits and if you so choose they say you can take it on the road – it’s that small.

You can pick one up for $280 at Amazon.

I have heard some really good things about the Radial-Shape Havahart Wireless Dog Fence. It covers up to one and a half football fields in all directions and can work for two dogs. I think I’m leaning towards going with that one.

My yard is 5 acres, so 90 feet would be too small of a radius. The Havahart Wireless fence sounds good though!
