It’s amazing. The slightest shift in a standard can make for a business opportunity. Case in point the microSIM, which is simply just a smaller version of the standard SIM card for all intense and purposes. Earlier this month a handful of DIY micro SIM videos emerged showing people cutting their regular SIM cards to fit the unlocked 3G iPad micro SIM card slot. But what if you wanna go the other way, as in put that SIM card you hacked back in your phone? Enter the microSIM card adapter. In effect it’s just a piece of hard plastic designed to fit and hold your micro SIM and return it to the SIM’s original size.
So this begs the question: will I be able to purchase a 4G iPhone and place its micro SIM back into my 3GS iPhone with this adapter? You see I plan on Jailbreaking my 3GS, installing the WiFi router app and using it as a 3G connection for my iPad.
By the way, you can pick one up for about $10.
