Put this one in your rumor pipe and smoke it: Apple is set to refresh their line of Macbook Air laptops, at least according to an Australian Macworld tipster who says that this model number (MC516LL/A K87 BETTER BTR-USA) is designated to the new hardware. It has been sometime since Apple updated their ultra svelte laptop, so from a time lapse standpoint this seems to make sense. But, on the other hand the Macbook Air laptop has to be the worst selling of all the computer hardware that Apple offers today, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually phased this model out and instead we see an announcement pertaining to a new 27-inch LED monitor that we heard about in March.
So if there is a new Macbook Air announced here is what we can probably expect:
- An updated, more energy efficient processor
- Longer battery life
- An optical drive
- Touchscreen (thought I’d throw this in there for fun)
