What do we have here? According to Zedomax this unbranded tablet, which is running Android OS 2.1, supports both Adobe flash and Air apps “flawlessly”. The video below shows the tablet running a Wired magazine application – a version is due for the iPad – which to me, looks okay at best. Another video, also embedded below, shows the tablet playing a Flash based YouTube video.

So what’s all the fuss about? Well, when compared to the iPad these tablets are Flash compatible, something Apple’s touchscreen device can’t and won’t do. Which basically means a wide number of websites can’t be used on the iPad, including Hulu. But is there anything really remarkable here? Not really. I’m not pro or anti Flash, but based on the issues (massively decreased battery and slowed processor) my Macbook Pro computer faces when running the software I can understand Jobs’ dismay for the tech. In order for Flash to be viable on any portable device it must be able to efficiently handle the software, something that has yet to materialize. But who knows, perhaps future Android devices will play nicely with Flash.
