FreePlay says their ZipCharge battery can give your gadgets hours of battery life after a quick 60 second charge. In terms of an iPod that means 2 hours of playback or 8 hours of standby time for your phone. Obviously there is some variability depending on the product in question, but you should get the picture.
To be clear, the ZipCharge is a external battery that you toss in your bag and plug your devices into when you need to power up. The only caveat to the device is that its total capacity is just 850mAh, which is not enough to fully charge most cell phones, or to be more specific an iPhone. But hey, if you’re running out the door and forget to charge both devices, 60 seconds of patience can keep your music jamming for a few more hours and hopefully by then you would have reached your destination or made your way through airport security to one of the many free power ports located at the gate.
As of now the ZipCharge is only available in the UK, but a US version is coming soon. Cost: £49.95 (~$75 US).
