Portable — 15 April 2010

Just when you thought vinyl and turntables were dead, along comes an innovative product known as the Crosley Revolution turntable (model number: CR6002A). Yeah it’s portable, but what’s cooler than the bee’s knees is that it can be battery operated and includes a USB port so you can go from analog to digital in a split-cross-fade second. The diminutive turn table has 2 speeds and the makers claim that the “platter (is) smaller than a teacup saucer”, which is a rather odd point of reference since I hardly think tea sipping grandmas have their eye on this device. But who knows; one of the Golden Girls was recently seen trumpeting the iPad, and she’s like 150 years old.
