Snipers Use Segways For Moving Target Practice (video)

Segway Sniper Robots 650x433 Snipers Use Segways For Moving Target Practice (video)

Here’s the future folks, and it is terrifying — the army now has Segway Robots. Well, at least they’re used for good. Marathon Robotics, an Australian company, took the vehicles and transformed them into human-like robots capable of their own movement decisions. The aim of the project is to help train soldiers to pick out threats in a crowd while avoiding innocent bystanders. The erratic and unplanned nature of the robots is perfect training for a situation in a large, public place, and they can all respond to an artificial “stimuli” (like a gun going off) at the same time via a wireless connection. Check out the video to see the robots in action.
