I’m both a big music and technology fan, but I never would’ve thought this would ever happen. Orange, an amp company that (in my opinion) makes awesome gear, has announced a crazy PC/amp hybrid. The OPC Computer Amplifier is a frankenstein monster — inside an Orange amp enclosure lies a computer with a 500GB HDD, 4GB DDR2 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9300 GPU, 802.11n WiFi, 8 USB ports, all running on Windows 7. The PC comes with included music creation software that features settings for Orange’s different amps, and the unit includes a built-in input jack for guitars and microphones. I want this thing, pronto.
The OPC Computer Amplifier will be available in June. Pricing is not yet available.
