Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."

  1. Just called apple support and solve my problems. It turns out that holding on the start button and home button (top right button and bottom middle round button) until the circle disappears and the apple appears (about 10 secs) restarts your frozen ipad without losing your data.
    You will only lose your data if you reset thru iTunes.

  2. my ipad froze while managing an email with a large attachment (8Mb photo)
    Tried to turn it down and now I have this horrible circle going on and on. I don't want to lose my data (it's not sync'd) so any good advice ?

  3. Hold down the power button on the face at the same time as you hold the sleep button down…for at least 10 secs and you should be able to wake it up…hopefully long enough to retreive data.

      Thanks for the tip MBOD50403. My ipad won't power on last night after my 3 year old watched cartoons on it. i thought the battery just drained out,after charging for 30 mins it wouldn't turn on anymore. It's working fine now.

      Same thing happened to me and my wife said it was my fault because I left it on our bed.  I tried your advice and BINGO!  It’s working just fine!

      thanks it works youre very smart i was thinking to go to apple store to fix it.. do i need to let apple know that i have a problem like that.. maybe they will change it for a new one it’s only one month since i got it.. or its a waste of time coz theyll do the same thing like the one you’ve said..thanks again..

  4. I, too, cannot power up after shutting down but I had already synced with iTunes when I first got my iPad the week before. I am three hours away, by plane, from the nearest Apple store although there is an Apple distributor here. What do I do now? I sent posted my problem via Apple's Advanced support and am waiting for their call. Anyone

  6. Just had this issue today. Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near an Apple store! Since I didn't sync before powering down, does that mean that all the apps I paid for since my last sync are lost?

  7. The screen froze up while watching a video. It won’t power off and now when I connect it to my laptop Itunes will not recognize it so that I can reset the entire system. Very disappointing for the amount I paid. Hoped it would work longer than two days! Oh, well, you know what they say over at Apple. “Ship Crap.”
