Balance Vest Helps The Impaired To Stand
I always love a good innovative technology story, and here’s a new one for you: Researchers at UCLA’s Center for Advanced Surgical and Interventional Technology have created a vest which helps those with impaired mobility walk. Sensors in the vest help to measure the person’s upper body movements, while silicon balloons inside the device inflate when the person begins to tilt. Thanks to accelerometers, the device adjusts the wearer accordingly to keep them standing. Those scientists are always so inventive, don’t you think?
