Siri Search App Apple Acquires Search App Maker Siri, Suri Cruise Remains With father Tom

Apple’s gobbling up tech start-ups like there’s no tomorrow. Their latest acquisition (of an undisclosed sum) is Siri, whose virtual assistant app lets you find nearby restaurants and shops with voice recognition technology. In terms of why Apple bought them — Apple doesn’t have a nativeĀ  application with this sort of feature set/technology (that honor lies with Google Maps and the other third-party search apps), so the deal makes sense. But like Apple’s other conquests, who knows when we’ll see what they’ll do with it.
