Sprint Unveils HTC EVO, A 4G Compatible Handset With HD Abilities

Sprint, yes Sprint, just raised the bar when it comes to Android handsets by announcing the HTC EVO. It runs Android 2.1, can connect to Sprints 3G/4G network, can share its WiFi connection with up to 8 device, has a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, a 4.3-inch 800×480 touchscreen, an 8 megapixel camera with 720p video capabilities (there’s also a 1.3mp forward facing camera), 1GB of built-in RAM, FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR with A2DP support, WiFi, compass, g-sensor, microSD card slot and an HDMI port to share your media on a connected HDTV. Oh yeah, there is a little kick stand built into the back of the phone for perching it on a desk.
Whoa, that is quite the feature set. Unfornuately, price and a launch date have yet to be officially announced, but you can expect the EVO sometime this summer.
