To help fuel the fires of everyday paranoia, the Etymotic Personal Noise Dosimeter will effectively help you judge how much damage your doing to your ears just by living. Etymotic’s ER-200 Personal Noise Dosimeter has two modes: one that measures and displays the amount of noise invading your ears over a 16 hour period, and a “quick check” mode that takes a 2 minute period an assess the noise damage you’d suffer over the course of an hour.
Weird ass product. For $100, it may only be worth it if you’re trying to build a case against an employer in regards to hearing impairment at such jobs as construction sites or live music venues. Ear plugs are also available.
