Remember the days of the first plasma TVs? They were like $10k at the cheapest and that was select models and select manufacturers. Though those days are far from back, they’re certainly going to come close if Panasonic’s first 3D TV is any indicator. The electronics manufacturer says they’ll charge about $5,900 for the Viera TH-P54VT, a 54-inch 3D enabled set. Keep in mind that this isn’t supposed to be the cheapest or the smallest of the sets, but for $6 I’ll gladly stick with a 55-inch local dimming LED TV from Vizio.
The Panasonic TH-P54VT will go on sale in Japan April 23rd, while the smaller version (TH-P50VT) will sell for $4,800.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
