Are you familiar with how satellites broadcast? obviously not…the signal is just about everywhere, your receiver just picks it up and interprets it

I’d like to know how this author came to the conclusion Sirius Satellite radio knows where I am… or why it would care… and how/why would Apple care either? Does he/she mean some Apple products… like the iPhone- can tell where I am? That would be correct, as they have GPS chipsets… something my Amazon Kindle doesn’t, nor does my Sirius Satellite radio…
