Pioneer is dipping their toe in what I’d would deem very murky and saturated waters. Today, they announced the introduction of their iPod compatible speaker systems, the XW-NAS3 and XW-NAS5. Both units features 2.1 channel sound (includes a downward firing subwoofer), Bluetooth A2DP stereo support (adapter required), a hidden display behind the grill and 60 watts of power. The higher end NAS5 takes it a step further and includes an FM radio and plays some sort of ambient sound, at least according to iPodnn. Both units also features video outputs.
There’s no word on when the XW-NAS3 and XW-NAS5 will hit US shores, but I’d expect them no later then mid October.
