Gimmick factor aside, the maker claims it can detect iron based metals up to 4-inches below the earth’s surface, which is indicated by a set of flashing lights and beeps. It’s range is limited to 24 feet which probably means you’ll need to stand in the middle and drive spirals around yourself.
