When Nintendo announced the Wii Vitality Sensor, the product’s functionality was relatively clear, but how it would be implemented with Nintendo’s games still remained in question. Yesterday, Nintendo chief Satoru Iwata indicated that the pulse sensor could be used to help gamers relax from a long and stressful day at the office.
From what little I can infer, the user would attach the Vitality Sensor to their finger and then a set of on screen visuals would guide the user into relaxation. Ultimately he equates the sensor to that of the common household bathroom scale, only that their version would be more in tune with your mental health. He also went on to say that the Vitality Sensor would be released in the ‘not too late in the year next year’ – his words, not mine.
