In case you haven’t noticed the storage market is like a black hole; there’s just no end in sight to where capacity will max out.  Kingston announced today their 256GB DataTraveler 300 USB flash drive.  That’s a two fold increase in capacity from last month’s announcement and almost double the price at $900.

The transfer write speed maxes out at 10Mbps while read time is 20Mbps, which means you’ll be killing more than a few hours of your life if you hope to transfer the drive’s entire contents to your computer.

No word on a release date, but it looks like it’s heading to the UK first.

Not worth the pricetag of $900 when you can buy a 250Gb Sata drive for less than $50…they wont sell many of these until the price comes down considerably.
