Gaming Playstation 3 Xbox 360 — 06 July 2009

Saturday night I noticed a banner ad on Xbox Live detailing a download only version of Battlefield 1943. There was a link to a demo that did not work. Watching the trailer explained that a new map called “Coral Sea” would be opened once the Live community amassed 43 million kills. Sunday night the banner had been removed. Now we know that Battlefield 1943 will be available on Xbox 360 on July 8th and on the PS3 the following day. The game is priced at $15 and will be multiplayer only. No word yet on how many maps will be included but it does look to be the first offering of what Mircosoft is calling their “games on demand” service. See you online!
