Western Digital WDH2NC40000 My Book World Edition II Hard Drive With Raid 1 And NAS Support Released

It was just a few weeks ago that Western Digital unveiled their My Book Studio Edition II 4TB Hard Drive. Today, they’ve released the My Book World Edition II in the same capacity.
So how does this drive differ from the aforementioned one? First off it only offers USB 2.0 and Ethernet; the Studio edition was quad interface but lacked network connectivity. That means the World Edition can stream media to compliant devices around your home and can be accessed from any where you’ve got an Internet connection. And for some icing on the cake it is iTunes compatible and comes in a brilliant white. Lastly, this version also ships with a RAID 1 configuration insuring that your data is always backed up. You can grab one now for $599.99.
