E3 is fully underway and to get in on the action Logitech announced the latest addition to their G-Series line of gaming peripherals, the Flight System G940. The idea is to bring a new sense or realism to today’s flight simulators and this includes an authentic force feedback joystick, dual throttle joystick and rudder pedals with toe brakes.
The force feedback joystick is designed to reflect the wind shear, turbulence and g-forces in a realistic manner, which includes directional feedback as well. The dual throttle features 8-way hat switches and a locking mechanism when you want to control your engines in sync. Finally, the Rudder Pedals with toe brakes provide a ‘true to life’ piloting experience and provides that next level of engagement during helicopter sims. Setting up the components is as simple as plugging in a USB cord and all components include ‘hard points’ of contact, which basically means you can bolt them down to any hard surface.
The Flight System G940 from Logitech supports PC flight simulators including Microsoft Flight Simulator X, IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946, Falcon: Allied Force, Lock On: Modern Air Combat X-Plane 9, Enemy Engaged 2, and DCS: Black Shark. It will go on sale this September for $299.99.
