Ah, the power of suggestion. Copenhagen, Denmark is going to great lengths to promote the postitive eco effects of bicycling, so much so that they’ve installed a bicyclist counter with air pump in front of city hall. A tiny fault line detects when a biker passes by and the dual LED read outs display total number of bikers for the year and by day. The count is then transmitted courtesy of a mobile phone to City of Copenhagen’s Center for Traffic. Apparently, the 500,000th biker will receive a free Biomega bike.
