Gaming Playstation 3 PSP Rumors — 19 June 2009

Despite the over 23 million PS3′s sold, Activision still doesn’t feel like it’s getting a good enough return on investment. Activision, the largest independent game developer in the world, paid Sony 500 million in royalties last year. CEO Bobby Kotick has expressed that if Sony does not drop the price of the PS3 and the PSP Go (I’m assuming) that Activision might consider pulling its titles and leaving Sony out in the cold. An unlikely outcome I’m sure, but I do agree that the PS3 needs to adjust its price point. In a dollop of irony, Activision also has the most games that require you to buy a peripheral to play them, making them much more expensive to the consumer.
