LG’s HB954TBW Blu-ray Player Includes An iPod Dock

I’ve been holding off on purchasing a Blu-ray player, but LG’s latest, the HB954TBW, has officially piqued my interest.  When it launches it will be horrendously expensive – $1,050 -  but the idea of having a slide out iPod dock built into a Blu-ray player might just get me to officially sign on to the ways of HD.  Unfortunately, a US or UK launch date is unknown at this point, but considering the adoption of all things iPod in the aforementioned countries, I’m confident the player will make ship outside of Korea sometime soon.

This unit has been launched in Hong Kong here for months. Don’t know why UK is so backward.

Coming with a free HDMI cable and other small gifts from a main AV shop in HK, the price is only HK$8,000 (7980 to be exact) which is only 640 pounds and with 2 years warranty. You British comsumers are so ripped off. 1,050 pounds with only 1 year warranty, no gifts. And yet, you need to wait for ages to ship in this. Pitty!

BTW, this is a good buy with wireless back surround speakers. Just consider its ipod ready and with a lan port to upgrade the hardware. It’s a blu ray, most importantly.

In conclusion, pitty to all British consumers!
