Last week or so I posted on the Denon DP-200USB, the LP 2 CD recorder seems a better fit for its target generation. At $150 more than the Denon, the Ion Audio LP 2 CD lets your burn your records straight to CD so you don’t have to futz with MP3 transfer if you don’t want to. For someone like my dad who is almost incapable of learning the most basic current technology but loves his old records, I think that the LP 2 CD is a much more streamlined approach and less learning intensive. For those who aren’t so tech stunted, you can also do direct transfer to a Mac or PC via USB and it even has integrated software to help with hiss and pops inherent of worn vinyl. Available now for $399

Yes there are other cheaper alternatives which connect to your PC but they do require some technical setup which some may find daunting.
This turntable is great for those who shy away from anything technical as it’s as easy as placing a record on the turntable, inserting a blank CD and pressing Record!
