Cell Phones — 29 April 2009

It ain’t no mystery that Motorola is hurting, but their latest phone might be the silver lining in the company’s future. Rumored for a possible Q2 release, the Calgary (ya, not a good name) will run the Android OS and feature a slide out touch tactile QWERTY keyboard, which are generally incredibly hard to type on – let’s hope they change this before launch. BGR seems to think the phone will focus on Social Networking, which if you ask me is a bit passe at this point, but whatever. Leaked images of the device shows the Calgary appearing on the Verizon Wireless network and other than that not much more is known.
What’s with the circular divot at the top of the phone? Projector…maybe.
