In totally unexpected video game news, Bethesda Softworks has announced the development of Fallout: New Vegas. Due out sometime in 2010 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, this game is a non-direct sequel to 2008’s Fallout 3. This time around however, the game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, who were responsible for the sequel to the awesome Star Wars game Knights of the Old Republic. Founded by original members of Interplay’s Black Isle Studios, they made the original Fallout games way back when. Bethesda is currently working on their open world shooter “Rogue Warrior”, so they are basically just publishing Fallout: New Vegas, in which one would make an “educated” guess and assume that the game takes place in post apocalyptic Las Vegas. After all the Rainbow Six Vegas games, I think that setting is getting a bit stale. KOTOR 2 was definitely not as good as the first, but we’ll just have to wait and see how the franchise continues. Still cool though.
