It wasn’t too long ago that news surface about Toshiba’s Camileo line of camcorders, the H20 and H30. Splitting the difference is the just announced S10. Pegged as a competitor to the MinoHD and other small and cheap camcorders, the S10 does a one up on them and captures 1080p video, something no other camcorder in its class currently boasts. Built-in to the camera is 128MB of memory which won’t get you very far, if any where, while shooting HD, but fortunately there’s an SD card slot for endless expandability. A 2.5-inch screen, 5MP sensor and 4x digital zoom round out the remaining features.
You can expect this bundle of 1080p joy to hit the UK sometime in May for about $180. No word on a US release but we’re expecting to review one.
