Cell Phones — 16 March 2009

Philips is pretty busy these days with their phone launches. Last week we saw the Xenium X530 and like I said it’s your run of the mill flip/clamshell phone. Following suit is the X700. On the outside of the handset is a 2-inch QVGA display, while the inside screen is 2.4-inches with a 240×320 resolution. The biggest and really only abnormal feature to the X700 is its 720 hour standby time, which I have a hard time believing, unless of course you were standing next to the cell tower. Its remaining feature set includes Bluetooth, media player, FM radio with RDS, 3.2MP camera and Quad-band GSM connectivity sans 3G.
The Philips Xenium X700 is expected to hit the EU and China sometime soon for about $220.
