Opel Outs Ampera Hybrid Vehicle, Uses Chevy Volt Engine
Opel, a car brand most people probably aren’t familiar with here in the states, leaked images of their Ampera hybrid vehicle to the blogosphere over the weekend. Inside is GM’s Voltec plug-in hybrid system, the same engine found in the Chevy Volt. Range of the electric engine is just 35 miles. Engage the combustion engine and the Ampera’s range is increased to over 300 miles. The Opal Ampera will be officially unveiled at tomorrow’s Geneva auto show.
