Gadget Leak: Apple To Sell No Contract iPhone 3G
Either Apple is a bit over anxious about the Palm PREs release or they’ve got a new iPhone coming. Because come March 26th existing AT&T customers will be able to purchase an unsubsidized iPhone 3G with no contract – at least according to this leaked slide. Pricing for a no contract 8GB is $599 and $699 for the larger all white 16GB. It won’t really stop folks from jumping AT&T’s ship in June (this is when the iPhone launched 2 years ago) but at least they won’t feel like they’re missing out on some of the PRE’s features if they do upgrade.
Update: Looks like they’re limiting customers to one no-commit iPhone 3G purchase, but based on the below slide you can get around this if you don’t buy it from a COR (corporate) store.
