Car tech has a tendency to move painfully slowly. However, the Open Source Light Car concept vehicle from EDAG puts a whole new spin on the industry. First off, it’s green friendly utilizing electric engines embedded in the wheels. Not only is this better for the environment, but safer for the passengers since their isn’t a giant block of steel ready to be flung into the cab of the car if there’s a crash. Second the rear of the car uses a giant OLED display to provide fellow commuters with a variety of information including speed, breaking power, accidents areas or if a pedestrian is crossing. Course, if you everyone drove one of these it could be a giant distraction, unless of course they networked the vehicles so they could communicate with each other.
